I went to East Beach in Galveston TX and had a long walk. Towards the end, I found this heavy buoy that looks like a giant Pokeball. It says on one side, “Equipo Cientifico CICESE and I can’t make out the rest. On the other side it says “If you find me please contact” and then the same thing in Spanish. and under that it says “PGC-M8-0025. It is from the CICESE research center on the Baja peninsula. It says “M.C. HONEY L.T.” on the top.

Hi Owen, Very cool blog. I also found one of these satellite tracking buoys from the Mexican CICESE company. I found mine in March 2017 on St Joes Island. I turned mine back in and they gave me a $50 reward. I have contact information if you are interested. Sounds like you are as passioate about beach combing as I am!! Regards, Mike Ley
